Why wouldn’t I just hire a new full-time employee? Wouldn’t it be cheaper?

It could be cheaper to hire a new employee for your organization, but that isn’t usually the reason that companies seek out staff augmentation services. Some of the reasons an organization might prefer a staff augmentation contract employee over an FTE hire include:

• Timing: They need qualified boots on the ground ASAP. The hiring process with many organizations is often lengthy

• Term: they need help for a short period of time and do not want to commit to an FTE when their need isn’t long-term

Subject Matter Expert (SME) & Staff Augmentation

At Caliber, our “Subject Matter Experts” (SMEs) and staff augmentation service staff are available to provide short to long-term staffing to strengthen your team with information security expertise and specific, targeted skills.  We are able to support your IT security staffing needs if you don’t have the experience on your team to complete a deliverable, lack capacity with your current staff to take on new projects, or budget for a full-time employee.  We have extremely experienced people with very deep knowledge in a variety of information security areas.

All engineers are available to assist with day-to-day operational tasks to implement your information security program, while our more senior staff provide leadership in the strategy, operations, and roadmaps for your information security needs.

When assigning a dedicated IT security resource to your project, we cannot guarantee we will assign a resource within 24 hours of the initial request. The timeline varies based on the nature of the role being requested, the location of the engagement (if working onsite), the set budget for the role, and specific skills and experience requirements.

Our network of information security connections and long-term relationships helps to speed up the interview process. We handle the initial interviews for roles that we need to hire for or carefully select candidates who are already part of our team and best fit the client's needs. Many IT security staff augmentation providers are too broad and general and do not dedicate the time to developing long-term relationships with their staff. We treat all Caliber employees as part of our team, even if they are dedicated to your staff full-time. 

Virtual “Chief Information Security Officer” (CISO) Services

As part of our “Information Security Staff Augmentation” services, we can provide your organization with a “Virtual Chief Information Security Officer” (vCISO). A vCISO can be available to your organization as needed to provide information security expertise and guidance.  A Virtual CISO has the specialized technical knowledge and corporate governance experience to support the buildout of a strong information security foundation, with the agility to prevent, detect, and mitigate evolving threats.
