You Won’t Find Another Full-Service Information Security Company that Makes Helping People Their #1 Business Metric

As a second-generation information security provider, you can safely say that information security is in my blood. My father and current Chief Sales Officer, Tab Pierce, founded Caliber Security Partners in 2010 with the belief that the more we help people, the better our business and our community becomes. Caliber was created because he had been in the information security industry for quite some time and has some big ideas on how to deliver better solutions for clients. Our whole identity is centered around helping people. We are truly obsessed with providing people what they want and, more importantly, what they need to thrive.

Caliber is built to be a full-service information security company, with a wide range of security services for clients with varying levels of security maturity. We formed our company with this structure, as it’s the best way to provide greater, meaningful value over time, than if we were just focused on doing one or two services. We value long-term partnerships, and relationships are more important to us than big, one-time sales.

What really makes us stand out is not what we do, but rather how we do it. Our business approach mainly stems from Tab’s philosophy for life – hard work, honesty, and dependability. Taking care of people’s needs by doing things the right way, and not just the easy way, makes us uncommon in the industry. Whether it’s our flexible service offering, our speed of delivery, our quality for the price, our actionable and relevant reporting, or any of the many other things we do, one thing you will notice is that we are different than other offerings out there. For us, it’s not only about getting things done; it’s about getting things done right, to take care of our customer’s long-term engagements.

Over the years, we’ve delivered outstanding work to Fortune 500 clients, who resolutely choose us again year after year. Yet while we service some of the larger companies out there, we are still the perfect choice for businesses that don’t have giant budgets. We are flexible, pliable, and adaptive to different organizations and teams. We work closely with our clients to find solutions that meet their particular needs. We have a variety of talent on staff to resolve any of your security issues, while not being too big and bloated with some of the inefficiencies you find with larger companies. We are like Goldilocks and the Three Bears: Not too big, not too small, we are just the right size.

Our success is based on our two most important metrics: how much can we help our clients and how much added value can we provide for their information security needs. When someone chooses Caliber, rest assured they will receive our best effort to make them feel confident, satisfied, and relieved that we have their back and are there to help guide them to long-term success.

President

I joined Caliber Security Partners in 2014 as an accountant and have worked my way up to my current position as President. My main goals at Caliber are to facilitate sustainable growth and provide optimal value to Caliber's clients, vendors, employees, and shareholders. I was brought with the belief that through service and by having the desire to help others be the best they can be, I will be at my best. I was taught to lead by example and I am thrilled to continue promoting the Caliber culture of hard work, honesty, and dependability. I graduated from Pacific Lutheran University with a Bachelors of Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. I have also been coaching high school Track and Field throwers since 2016 and I am currently enjoying my role as the throws coach at Arlington High School.

Tab Pierce

Tab Pierce

Chief Sales Officer

I founded Caliber Security Partners in 2010, with the belief that security needed to change from just a technical deliverable to also including an executive view and management of risk. I have over 20 years of information security knowledge and am highly connected throughout the United States. If you need to find someone in security, chances are I know them or can at least quickly get an introduction. As the former founder of The Zyon Group and co-founder of Mindpoint.net, I have held executive positions within information security services providers, as well as IT companies. Work and security are my passions, but if I’m not doing that, check one of the lakes, rivers, or the Puget Sound, because I’m probably out fishing.

Jon Espenschied

Practice Director and CISO

I bring over 20 years of security experience to Caliber, based on consulting for leading security firms such as @Stake, Symantec, and CTG, and key roles in Microsoft, AT&T, United Nations, Click Security, Alert Logic, and other similar organizations. At Caliber, I manage our consulting practices including information governance & compliance, security policy and program implementation, enterprise risk management, threat modeling, social engineering, incident analysis, and privacy compliance. I've earned a variety of certifications including CISM, CISA, CISSP, CIPP/G, CGEIT, CRISC, CIPM, NSA-IAM and UN-BSIF/ASIF.  When I'm not working my way through client challenges, I enjoy a range of hands-on diversions that involve no software: writing and travel, artistic blacksmithing, resuscitating dysfunctional motorcycles, and spoiling other people's recipes with heaping tablespoons of irreverence. I live in the Pacific Northwest with no dog. Yet.

I have experience both as a consultant and as a member of the security team at a major regional bank, with over 10 years in computer security. At Caliber, I’ve built our suite of Web-based applications, developed processes for binary patching mobile applications for testing purposes, and have performed numerous web application security tests. I have my Master's degree in Mathematics and enjoy playing video games with my son.
